DDSG Blue Danube

Description

The 1st DDSG (= Erste Donaudampfschifffahrtsgesellschaft) had a long tradition on the Danube extending back to 1829. With its recent successor DDSG Blue Danube, you can enjoy cruises promising moments of true bliss on board. Relaxing excursions and sightseeing cruises in Vienna and the Wachau are part of the lineup, as are wonderful themed evening cruises complete with buffet and live music.

THE NEW MS WACHAU
The proud DDSG vessel MS Wachau is considered a classic among the Austrian excursion ships and has a distinctive, finely balanced shape. It has undergone a complete refurbishment that lends it a new air of classic maritime chic. From now on, it takes its place along side the Dürnstein, refurbished in 2016, as the second modern DDSG ship in an authentic Wachau look to serve the Wachau, a UNESCO World Heritage landscape.

WACHAU SPECIALS
From late March to early November, the red-white DDSG fleet operates up to three times daily in each direction for relaxed cruises through the Wachau, a UNESCO World Heritage landscape. A cruise through the Wachau is magnificent any time of year, be it in the springtime with the apricot and other fruit trees in full bloom or summertime with azure skies or autumn when the vineyards shimmer in the afternoon sun in hues of red and gold. The full-service schedule offers so many possibilities for experiencing this stretch of the Danube between Krems, Dürnstein, Spitz, Emmersdorf and Melk from aboard a ship.
